This is such an exciting experience and adventure for me and my family and I want to thank everyone for their great support. For those of you that are new to the site-welcome! I have been married for almost 9 years to the most wonderful man and have the two best kids (if I do say so myself) We have a 6 year old (or 6 1/2 as she likes to say) daughter and a 2 year old son. We live here in Salt Lake City, UT at the base of the majestic Wasatch Mountains (thus the name Wasatch Needlecraft).

As some of you may know my son is off the charts allergic to all nuts and eggs. It has been an adjustment for us- learning what he can and can not eat and how to get him things he can enjoy. In doing some research for a wheatfree cookie for my nephew this past summer I found a recipe for chocolate chip cookies that was both wheat, egg and nut free.......I do have to say that they are very good and we all enjoy them as well. I know most allergy free recipes are not all that great but try these-it will change your mind.

Ingredients
1 3/4 cups oat flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup canola oil *or* melted margarine
1 Tablespoon flax meal
1/4 cup soy milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 F.

Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together flax meal and soymilk. Add sugar and stir, add oil and vanilla and whisk vigorously until all ingredients are emulsified (about a minute).

Mix wet ingredients into dry, fold in chocolate chips.

Drop batter by the tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheet, leaving and 1 1/2 inches of space inbetween cookies.

Bake for 10 -12 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for a bit (5 minutes). Using a spatula, put them on a cooling rack or plate to cool the rest of the way.

April Newsletter

I hope that everyone is getting into the spirit of spring.....even though a lot of us still have some snow on the ground. This month I am excited to announce several new things. First of all since it is spring we are doing some "spring cleaning" of our own. There are some great new things coming out and a few upcoming shows so in order to clear some shelf space I have loaded our clearance page with some great items for sale. The sale is limited to the items on hand and the pages will be updated continually with sold out items or new items that are added so be sure to check it often.

Second I am excited to announce our frequent buyers and birthday discounts. Starting April 1st for every $200 you spend you will receive $20 off your next order. I will keep track of all purchases so there are no cards or anything to keep track of I will simply send an email once you reach the $200 and you can apply your discount off your next order. Also I am starting the ever popular birthday discount. Just shot me an email and let me know the month of your birthday and anytime during that month you will receive 30% off one order (discount applies to all non-sale items)

Don't forget the online needlework show www.needleworkshow.com on April 16-21st, I will be there so let me know if there is anything that you "need." Also coming very soon will be the new and improved fabric pages which should make ordering your fabrics much easier and there will be a new designer spotlight which is now planned for May so look out for that as well. Hope everyone is having a wonderful start to spring and I will talk to you soon!

**NASHVILLE REPORT**

Well I am back from Nashville and what goodies I have for you! I had such a wonderful time seeing all of the new pieces, seeing friends I have known and making new friends along the way. I only had one problem while in Nashville- I found so many wonderful things (my husband said I was like a kid in a candy store). I know have pictures of the Just Nan releases for preorder you can click the Just Nan and get more info.

I guess the best way for me to let you know about all the wonderful products is just to get to it-so here we go, just click on each designer as you go along and you can see the charts to the left (or click on the chart name to see a larger photo).

Carriage House Samplings- A great piece- The Shores of Hawk Run Hollow.

Cats Whiskers- OK, so I knew what was new here before going but I will tell you that seeing the models in person was great! The Garden Chair is so very cute and the umbrella is wonderful! The Le Coffre du Trésor de la Reine (Queens Treasure Chest) was so beautiful- the stitches are incredible. We of course have Janies other pieces as well, The Purr-fect Bookmark a cute, quick little piece to stitch up. The Bianca's Scissor Pocket with its incredible colors and the wonderful biscornu Winter Wonderland.

Cherished Stitches-I have gotten the two new pieces for the Amethyst Collection and I am sure these will be as popular as the Needle Case. I have the Sewing Bag and also the Scissor Case and Pin Keep. I have also picked up the finishing kit- it is one kit but has the materials needed for both.

Dinky Dyes-has brought us some wonderful new pieces. We have Min Min, Lasseter's Reef and Butterfly Garden all available with the Dinky Dye Thread.

Fern Ridge Collections- Ok this is one of my favorite pieces (or should I say 3 pieces) We have for you the Autumn Etui, Autumn Etui Needlebook and Autumn Etui Fob. These are all kits and included everything you need-and I will say is that this has to be one of the most beautiful fabric colors I have seen. The fabric is a double dyed piece from Lakeside Linens and is wonderful! The fob is a beading kit and also includes everything needed.

GPA-Giulia Punti Antichi-The Adam and Eve Etui has to be another one of my favorite pieces that I saw. A wonderful etui designed for the "Adam and Eve" set by 'In The Company of Friends'. Both of these pieces are based from motifs from the Caroline Reeves Sampler. The chart is sold separately but we also have the set from In the Company of Friends which includes cards, envelopes, finishing labels, bookplates, needlebook, thread palette and pin keep.

Hands To Work- I found two cute new charts here.

Jeannette Douglas-Here is another one of my favorites from the show-Pomegranate and Pear Stitches. The colors on this piece are just incredible. A second addition to her Stitches Series is Silver Needle Stitches. Both of the additions to the Stitches series also have a needlebook available. To add to her American Journeys Series we have The Bay State-Massachusetts. Last from Jeannette we have A Needle and Thread Sampler.

Just Nan- We have one new release for you- Sparkling Iris. We also have some news of upcoming releases. I was able to see Barnabee's Bride Kit and it is wonderful! (similar to the Ladybug release from last year) and also the Biscornu- When Barnabee Met Bella. Both are very limited editions and I only have a few on reserve and won't be able to order more so I am going to require a 50% deposit to hold one for you . So if you are interested in getting one or both click here to reserve your copy.

Keslyn's- A new designer for me to carry and and I am excited about the pieces I picked up. I loved all of these new pieces the colors were just wonderful but even better she had a few with a different color way and it looked like an entire different chart. These would be great to stitch as is or even change the colors to match your decor.

MTV Designs- Another absolutely beautiful piece- Treasure Sewing Box is a must have on my list. I have the chart on hand (no finishing instructions included) I believe there will be some form of finishing kit which is stuck in customs. I will let you know more about that as soon as I do. I also have the Olde Willow Thread pack for this piece as well. I just wish I had a better picture to show you but if you go to www.mtvdesigns.com you can see a quick video that really shows a lot of the detail in this piece. I also picked up the new Romantic Sewing Set which includes finishing instructions.

Papillon Creations-What else would we expect but great pieces here- Natures Marvels and New World.
